joined up to do park run in whitstable kent hoping i could do it in 28 mins the head wind off the sea ft was herendous but i still managed it in 28 - 18 im well chuffed the spirit was realy good shame its a 34 mile drive to get there but there arent any down my neck of the woods so it was worth the efort :)
Did my 1st Parkrun today as well, 38.39 and determined to beat that next week. Great organisation, friendly people, crap weather!
Glad you enjoyed it. I started going to parkrun in january when it came to Harrogate where I live. i wasnt a runner and enjoy it immensely and its never the same but the people are always so friendly. Why not see if you can encourage a new one to set up nearer you or check if there isnt one in the planning as there seems to be so many new ones appearing. have fun Brenda
You get used to the weather it was aweful when our parkrun started in January but its about improving on your own time each week. The weather today looked fine I thought dry and sunny but when we started there was a cross wind and as I have a cold was just glad to get finished. Always enjoy it and the people are lovely. My first one was about your time now do it in 34 mins and aiming to get it down to 30 soon not bad for someone who couldnt run and in their late 50s. Gives me such a feel good factor when I do it on a Saturday. happy running brenda
looked in to setting up one localy you need quite a big sponsor fund to get started can only hope some one else will start one :)
have a word with your local council sports development department, thats what helped get ours going :)
