Brighton marathon 2012

  • I can't seem to find a thread about this but I know there will be several Bugs in attendance.

Anyone interested in meeting up before or afterwards?

  • Me! Probably before as I am not as fast as a lot of people doing it :)

  • I'm in, whenever really though expecting to be super slow! : D

  • It doesn't matter how slow or fast you are, I hear the pubs will still be open until late . . (and KandiKane, you are not slow!)

I'll be in Brighton on the Saturday heading home on the Monday.

KandiKane / JustMe you really need to meet up with myself and Adam. Not sure that walking like a cowboy into a bar in the gay capital of the UK with Adam is sending out the right message.

Adam, I know foxy will be there for the run but she will be heading back after the run.

  • I'm expecting to do my usual post-Brighton marathon routine:

Cake at Metro Deco, beer, fish & chips on the beach and ice cream.

I can even be talked into a round of crazy golf.

  • I usually head straight home as I depend on a lift from someone. Will see if I can convince my friend to maybe stay a bit longer. She's not running & is usually up for going to the pub

And JF, I bet you'll get your bum pinched!!! :)

  • Not by me!

  • I should hope not Adam!!! There are plenty of guys in Brighton who would be more than happy to do it!

  • err before you arrange for anything involving blokes and my bum . ..  .

  • He he! I wouldn't have to arrange anything! It'll just happen 'naturally' :D

  • Race packs are arriving ... 1687 blue!

  • Got mine too!

  • Think I arranged to pick my race pack up but am number 8586 or hmmm will check what I put on FB. So any thoughts on meeting up afterwards? Am not hugely reliable with my phone so unlikely to notice phone calls etc post race, so perhaps a pub or something where bugs might come and go and we may just bump into each other? : D

  • Got my number last week BUT unfortunately I have had to pull out.... :(

My knee healed up pretty quickly but I have had an issue with my leg ever since. Waiting to get an appointment with a physio but been told by my doc who is a marathon runner that yes, he can give me strong painkillers & I will finish the marathon but I might never run again... Not a happy bunny :'(

Will still go & watch though!

  • JustMe that is a real shame and not worth the risk based on their advice.

BTW KandiKane, Adam, Nick and I have all met so it would be great if you could somehow meet up with us for a celebratory cake / coffee / beer afterwards.

I'm planning on being down the night before so if you play crazy golf, or would like to meet up at the expo, drop me a line
