I have been putting in my runs over the last couple of weeks. It has been challenging with the children breaking up from school for Christmas, but I've still had some good runs.

stridersI took part in the Saffron Striders Cross Country League Race on the 16th December at Ware. I likened the conditions to the quicksand scene in Indiana Jones!! The worst parts were shin deep with mud and had most people slowing to a march across the ploughed fields!

I have been doing my road running for the most part, with only 2 months to go until my first half marathon I will be sticking to a rigid plan for the next two months. As part of the build-up I have just taken part in the Buntingford Year End 10 mile, finishing in 157th out of 475 runners in a time of 1 hour 16 minutes and 20 seconds. Coming home with an average pace under 8 minute miles I was happy with my effort and am looking good going forward to the half marathon.
