Joe McElderry Hits a Home Run

Bio:

Joe is an English singer and songwriter. You may recognise him as the winner of the sixth series of the XFactor in 2009 or as the winner of the second series of Popstar to Operastar, two years later in 2011.

Running:

Joe took part in his third Great North Run this year to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust. Last year, Joe completed the race in 1 hour 40 minutes.

Joe had to fit training around his packed schedule. He takes full advantage of his days off stating on twitter, "My first day off in a long time and I get straight up and go out for a run!" That's commitment.

But, has it been worth it? Did he manage to beat his time from last year? Drumroll please... Joe McElderry finished in 1 hour 36 minutes, that's four minutes off last year's time. Well done Joe!!
