Event: Marathon

Career Highlights:

Scott Overall is one of those Olympic heroes we love. He was the surprise success story of 2011 and the first man to be selected for the Olympic marathon in London after a debut time of 2:10:55 at Berlin, well below the 2:12 benchmark!

Overall has been training and racing hard since he was a youngster and his previous record is impressive, including Gold medals in the 5000m at home and international appearances in Cross Country, 3000m and 5000m. He ran 13:28 for 5000m in 2008, and 47:47 for 10 miles, both clues that he was a talent! And with Mo Farah as a junior training partner - they were both members of Hounslow AC when they were 14 - it's no surprise that this man has become a champion in his own right.

Quirky facts: Scott was an usher at Mo Farah's wedding!
