Career Highlights:

At just 25, Dai Greene's career has glittered - he's won gold at three of athletics' majors: the Commonwealth games, the European games (both 2010) and the World Championships in Daegu, Korea in 2011. If he does it in London, he'll be the fifth British athlete to have medals in all the major events, joining an exclusive club of winners, who's current members include Linford Christie, Daley Thompson, Jonathan Edwards and Sally Gunnell.

Dai's personal best from September 2010 is an impressive 47.88, which ranks him second in the UK's all time list (second by .06 of a second to Kriss Akabusi's 47.82). In London he'll be taking on the American trio of Angelo Taylor, Kerron Clement and Bershawn Jackson, as well as the UK top position.

Greene's medal collecting began in 2005 when he won silver at the European Athletics Junior Championships. Gold followed at the 2007 European Athletics U23 Championships with a new best of 49.58 seconds.

In 2009 Greene teamed up with his current coach Malcolm Arnold and he became one of the athletes supported by the Wells Sports Foundation, set up by philanthropist and athletics enthusiast, Barrie Wells to offer financial support to up and coming athletes.

In June 2009 Greene joined the senior circuit and a PB of 48.62 put him top of the European rankings. He followed this with 7th in the final at the Worlds. By 2010, he was in shape to begin his gold run at the aforementioned European Athletics Championships, and Commonwealth Games and the 2011 World Championships in Korea.

Quirky facts: Before becoming a World class hurdler, Dai played youth football to a high level, and scored a goal against Real Madrid as a Swansea City youth player.
