USER REVIEW BY Clare Hill

These shoes looked and felt chunky, but that was what I needed for my first off-road run in a few years. What you gain in support and stability you lose in flexibility and this shoe may not suit more advanced runners who want to bound around the trails.

The ride was secure, the deep lugs meant I didn’t slip over at all and they coped well with mud, but they did feel heavy, especially as I ploughed through a muddy field!

The laces were good and the tongue had a secure feel and extra padding and waterproofing. The upper was well cushioned and felt solid, but they weren’t very breathable and my feet felt a little bit hot.

This pair of shoes was given to me by the Bug reviews team as it offered extra support in the heel and I’ve had a bad bout of Achilles tendonitis and I think this shoe definitely offered the support I need in that area.

These shoes are a great price and for someone who wants to tread carefully and run slowly off-road once or twice a week, they’re a great choice.
